Amish Recipe: Overnight Salad

by Joi on March 15, 2006

1 head lettuce (chopped)
5-6 pieces celery, cut up
1 15 oz. pkg. frozen peas (cooked, drained, cooled)
1 large onion, minced
1 package bacon (fried, drained, broken up)
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 jar mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar

Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl. Spread mayonnaise over the top and sprinkle with sugar. Let set overnight in the refrigerator.

Toss just before serving. This is a very unique summertime dish, and will probably be a first for anyone you served it to.
