Amish Walnut Pie

by Joi on December 10, 2005

1 cup warm water
3/4 cup molasses
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup sweet milk
4 Tbsp. flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
2 9″ pie crusts, baked

Bring water and molasses to a boil.

Meanwhile, stir together beaten eggs, milk and flour until smooth. Mix into water and molasses and let boil until thick.

Remove from heat and add the walnuts. Cool. Pour into baked crusts.

An unexpected alternative to pecan pie.
