Apple Crumb Pie

by Joi on November 22, 2005

4 large tart apples, cored, pared and sliced
2/3 cup sugar
2 Tbs butter
Juice from 1/2 lemon

TOPPING:

1 stick butter, softened
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour

Place apple slices in a pie plate. Top with sugar and butter, pour lemon juice on top. Lightly toss ingredients.

Using fingers, mix ingredients for the topping, then crumble over apples.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Lower heat and bake for 15 minutes more.

Serve hot.

This apple pie is a delicious alternative to pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie. If you’re having a large group for the holidays, having one of each is a pretty cool idea!
