Beautiful Pear Dish for the Holidays

Below’s a link to a great sounding - and even more beautiful - recipe: Country Pear Dumplings. It involves pastry, so the skill level and time frame jumps up there a bit, but for Thanksgiving or Christmas entertaining - it’d be more than worth it.

I definitely plan on having these for Thanksgiving, the only thing is 1/2 of me wants to try them out beforehand - but the other 1/2 doesn’t want to spring them on my family before then. I get the feeling that one of my daughters and I will be having a fancy schmancy lunch one of these afternoons when everyone else is otherwise engaged…aka, working.
