by Joi on March 9, 2008

This adorable Four Piece Shamrock Kitchen Collection (Dish Towel, Pot Holder, Mug & Oven Mitt) is just in time to make it’s way into our kitchens. Frankly, I love them.

From the Web Site:

Brighten your kitchen with cheery shamrocks! Our set includes a cotton terry dish towel, pot holder, 9 oz. mug (dishwasher and microwave safe), and an oven mitt printed with an Irish soda bread recipe. From Ireland.

How appropriate that they’re from Ireland, eh?!

Seasonally Sensational Dishes!

Geranium Cake Stand, 8 1/2 " x 4"

One of my cats, Alexa, and I unpacked Spring and Easter this morning. We did it while my daughters were sleeping - so, when they got out of bed, they were greeted by rabbits, ducks, Spring scented candles, Yellow Peeps, Chocolate candy eggs, Jelly Beans, and a whole array of Easter/Spring decorations. The effect wasn’t lost on them. Neither were the Peeps.

If you’re like us, you decorate and re-decorate with each season and holiday. It just makes life funner, somehow!

I love beauties like the Geranium Cake Stand (above). They celebrate the seasons right along with us, don’t they? Can you picture how gorgeous Red Velvet Cupcakes would look on this cake stand?! Oh great, guess what I’m hungry for now. Looks like another trip to the store.

I’m also pretty wild about the Geranium Platter, below. If I weren’t so busy thinking about Red Velvet Cupcakes, I’d picture Red Pepper strips, Yellow Pepper Strips, Green Pepper Strips, Cucumber slices, and radishes arranged on this platter. Served alongside a killer Ranch dip, it’d make a delicious tv watching snack.

Second only to what? Right! Red Velvet Cupcakes. Now where’s that recipe…..

Gorgeous, Abstract Work of Art for the Artful Home

by Joi on February 25, 2008

The breathtakingly beautiful work of art, above, is called “Red Tray”. It’s an art glass tray (safe for food, but I’m not sure I’d ever let food touch it!).

From the Web Site:

Artfully abstract tray created by fusing pieces of cut glass in a kiln and shaping the form over a ceramic mold in a second firing. Signed on reverse. Food safe. Hand wash.

Dimensions: 8″W x 13″L x 0.75″D

Click through the link or the picture to get to the “Enlarged Picture” - it’s nothing short of magnificent.

Artichoke Salt and Pepper Shakers

by Joi on February 17, 2008

Artichoke Salt and Pepper Shakers

You don’t have to be a collector to love these little plump Artichoke Salt and Pepper Shakers. My mom actually collected salt and pepper shakers, but I’ve only recently fallen madly in love with them.

These are, without a doubt, some of the cutest salt and pepper shakers I’ve ever seen. And that’s no joke, artichoke.

Helping Little Helpers Feel Like Big Helpers

by Joi on February 2, 2008

This is pretty cute - as long as it’s used only…and only…when an adult is in the kitchen.

The Kitchen Helper is from Montgomery Ward and is just the thing height-challenged little ones need! It can help the little ones feel like big ones while they help in the kitchen.

It’s also incredibly good looking! Click the link to learn more.

Beautiful, Colorful Peppers Art Print

by Joi on January 15, 2008

Les Piments

Les Piments Art Print
Burgess, Linda

Buy at AllPosters.com

This beautiful art print has every intention of getting framed and gracing one of my kitchen walls - and as gorgeous as it is, I’m all for it.

Its timing is perfect, I’ve fallen in total fatuation with peppers lately. I’ve been throwing them into salads, quesadillas, tacos, and even scrambled eggs. I’m experimenting with different varieties and I’m the middle of a post I’ll be adding about all that I’ve learned.

They really kick up any meal they’re invited to, so start putting them on the guest list more often!

Crazy Mad Cool Sexy Somethin’ Somethin’s From Uncommon Goods.com!

by Joi on January 5, 2008

Another trip to www.UncommonGoods.com, another couple of somethin’ somethin’s I can’t possibly live without. I’ve been living without it all this time without them, you say? (Did my husband tell you to say that???)

Well, now that I’ve seen these, I can’t possibly live another moment without them.

First up, we have the Expandable Flower Trivet (above). From the web site: Pull apart these stainless steel petals to create a trivet for oblong baking dishes or fold it into a flower shape that is ideal for round pots and dishes. Minimalist and functional, this trivet will protect surfaces from hot dishes no matter what size they are.

Check that, I’ll take one.

Secondly, Sensual Serveware (below)! From the web site: At first glance, this pure and simple glass bowl looks just that. But it is the closer inspection that will bring a slight smile of amusement as you share in designer Scot Spratford’s clever and elegant interpretation of the “mud-flap girl.” Spratford’s plexiglass silhouettes are much sleeker and refined than their more voluptuous counterparts, and they convey the sophisticated sensuality of a modern woman. The shallow clear bowl can be used to hold candy, fruit, dried flowers or stand alone and receive the attention it deserves.

Of course I’ll take one. My kitchen’s going to be soooo glamorous I’ll never want to leave it. Oh, that’s right, I never leave it as it is. Whatever. My view is about to get even sweeter.

Click the link at the first of the post to go to the web site. Once there, simply enter the name of the product you want to take a closer look at. After you’ve done that, enter the other one - they’re amazing. I know you’ll agree.

Gorgeous Lemons In a Bag Art Print

by Joi on January 3, 2008

Lemon Bag

Lemon Bag Art Print
Buy at AllPosters.com

I was browsing online for art prints or posters featuring Lemons (for a Motivational Post on Self Help Daily) - when I came across the gorgeous art print above. I all ready have a great love for and fascination with lemons, there is always, always, always a bowl of lemons and limes in our kitchen. With all of our (heavy) tea drinking, frequent fish dinners, and a never-ending supply of guacamole prepared at all times - lemons and limes are on our “get every time we go to the store” list. So, I was pre-primed to go ape for this print. I just think it’s gorgeous!

My daughters and I have been re-vamping every room in the house - out with the tired old “been there-seen that a thousand times” pictures and knick knacks and in with the “Wow, look at that!” newbies. I’d say this print qualifies for that distinction.

I haven’t found the image I want to use for the Self Help Daily post yet, but I had to take a mini-break to show you this particular print. Click the link for a closer look.

Gorgeous!
