2 sticks butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
4 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla

With electric beaters, cream butter with the next three ingredients. Sift cocoa, along with the next 3 ingredients, into a large bowl.

Combine milk and vanilla. Alternatively combine the wet mixtures into the dry mixture until well blended.

Grease a bundt pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean,

This is the best Chocolate Pound Cake recipe I’ve ever tried. Just be sure you aren’t bashful when adding the cocoa to the recipe - use heaping tablespoons.

You’ll be so glad you did when you’re experiencing chocolate afterglow!
