Cocoa Gravy

by Joi on June 14, 2005

2 Tablespoons cocoa
2 Tablespoons flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups milk

Sift cocoa, flour and sugar into a small bowl. Add milk, a little at a time. Stir until mixture is smooth.

Pour in a heavy skillet and cook, over low to medium low, until mixture is texture of smooth gravy. Add a little water, if necessary, to keep it from getting too thick.

Serves 8.

I’ve always make this gravy when I make my traditional gravies (Red Eye, Sausage, etc..) because one of our daughters is a vegetarian. This has always allowed her to have something special to put on her biscuits like everyone else. The funny thing is, ‘”everyone else” eats their own meat-based gravy AND samples plenty from hers! It is reallllly good.
