Do the Watermelon Crawl, You All

by Joi on August 24, 2005

Not only is watermelon low in calories and pretty harmless all around, it’s rich in lycopene.

Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant that is to heart disease what Vitamin C is to colds. Heads it off, big time. Studies have now found that it has similar effects on Cancer and Strokes.

Besides, summer just isn’t summer without juicy, yummylicious watermelon.

Lycopene is also abundant in red tomatoes as well as in tomato-based products. I’ve noticed that Centrum, and other daily vitamins, have been adding it to their vitamins - just look for it in the list on the back of the bottle.
