Welcome!

Welcome to Get Cooking! - a food and cooking blog in conjunction with Buttermilk Press. My intentions are to make this blog an online cookbook with a personality.

With Buttermilk Press, I often add recipes and articles but there are a lot of times I have a little tip, recipe or idea that I simply don’t think are lengthy enough to warrant an entire article or web page. Soooo, it occurred to me that a blog would be perfect. I can come and chit and chat and, hopefully, be chitted and chatted right back at!

I’ll categorize the posts under either “Recipes”, “Close Enough”, “Check it Out”, or “Table Talk”, so it’ll make it easier to find what you’re looking for. Recipes will be for recipes (No duh, huh?!) and Table Talk will just be yours truly sharing what knowledge I’m privy to. Check it Out will be for recommending things I’ve come across that I wholeheartedly give my recommendation for. (Such as Cracker Barrells’ French Toast or Arby’s Jalapeno Poppers). Close Enough will be for something that I’ve always found very challenging and fun. I take restaurant recipes or food off of the grocery shelves and try to copy it. Two summers ago I nailed the Poppers from Arby’s, but I’m still working on the sauce - can’t get it quite right.

By all means, I hope you’ll still continue to visit Buttermilk Press (as it supports this blog I implore you to!). Besides, that’s where the longer recipes and articles will be added.

Thank you so very much for stopping buy and I’d love to see you right back here tomorrow!
