Smoothies 101

by Joi on January 6, 2006

(In the spirit of healthy eating!) The basics of making a Smoothie:

  • First measure the fruit juice in the blender.
  • Add ice milk or frozen yogurt. Gently press down with ice cream scoop - you want the mixture to hit the blades.
  • Add vitamin supplements (if so inclined) and crushed ice - in that order. Again, gently press down.
  • Finally, add the fresh or frozen fruit. Blend at high-speed until mixture is smooth and creamy.

If it’s time for a new blender, check biz-rate (see ad to the right) for the best buys.

It’s WAY past time for me to get a new blender - I think mine was there the day they swore in Lincoln.
