Starbucks Lightening Up

by Joi on June 7, 2007

Starbucks recently announced that they’ll soon be using 2% milk in their espresso drinks. Noticing an increased number of consumer requests for the lower-fat milk PLUS the fact that more Americans are buying low-fat milk for their own personal use, Starbucks tested the switch in a few locations and were very impressed by consumer response.

Changing from whole milk to 2% lowers the calories in a 16-oz. latte by roughly one-third and significantly lowers the fat content as well.

Sounds like a good move to me - one I’ll toast to…with a favorite from Starbucks!
