Tis the Season for Folly!

I guess you can tell from the decorations on the blog as well as the homepage (Buttermilk Press.com) that I get a big kick out of the holidays. I guess Halloween isn’t exactly a holiday but it is a fun time. I know that not everyone uses Halloween for good, clean innocent fun - but they’re the unfortunate exceptions. Most of us just want to have fun with it and watch the kids have a blast.
I’m the sort of person who decks her house out according to the season - so I’m always on the look out for great seasonal dishes, baskets, towels, platters, figurines, etc. Some of the cutest things I’ve found this year have all been online. Lillian Vernon is where I found the adorable items above. I’m really not sure why, but happy little ghosts float my boat. I love fat, faceless pumpkins, too, but I’m mainly all about happy little ghosts. Hallmark Stores have adorable little ghost figurines - I fully intend to snatch one up the next time I go to the mall - oh, I don’t know, let’s say tomorrow.
Mikasa.com puts a beautiful spin on the season with one of the most gorgeous collections I’ve ever seen - The Countryside Harvest Collection. I’m going to start investing in these pieces right away, so our Thanksgiving table will be gorgeous for years to come. The Pumpkin Soup Tureen from this collection is pictured below. Is it beautiful or what???
