1 box German Chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter
1 cup evaporated milk
1 (14 oz) package caramels
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare cake mix as directed. Pour 1/4 - 1/2 of batter into 13×9x2 ” baking pan, coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Melt butter, milk, and caramels in a saucepan and pour over partially cooked batter. Sprinkle half of pecans and all of chocolate chips over caramel mixture. Pour on remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Bake 20 -25 minutes longer.
Yield: 10 - 12 servings
