Southwestern Sloppy Joes
1 lb. ground round or ground turkey, lean
1 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 10 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup or 8 oz. tomato sauce
4 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cumin, ground
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup water
In large skillet, combine meat, onion, celery, and water. Cook on medium heat until meat is done. Drain fat.
Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, brown sugar, cumin, and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until mixture thickens.
Serve on buns.
