Review: Eat, Feed, Love Taste Club

March 24, 2016 By Joi Sigers

I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. This costs you absolutely no extra money (of course), it simply allows me to maintain the lifestyle my cats are accustomed to!

Eat Feed Love Taste Club Box: March "Luck of the Irish"

Eat Feed Love’s March Taste Club Box: Luck of the Irish!

When I have the opportunity to review or tell y’all about something I’m really excited about, I have a hard time staying ahead of my words. As my cup of coffee and I sit at the computer, the words get ahead of both of us… cool, amazing, delicious, ingenious, bloody brilliant, gorgeous… yes, bloody brilliant.

Some of the words have wicked cool accents.

I was sent an Eat, Feed, Love Taste Club Box (the March Luck of the Irish Box, to be exact) to review on Get Cooking and I’m delighted to do so.

Could you tell?

First a little bit about Eat Feed Love:

There are over 800 million people in the world who are living with hunger and malnutrition every day. It’s a harsh reality that many are left feeling helpless about. What if we could all do our part by simply choosing where we purchase our food. At Eat Feed Love, our goal is to build a platform where we can all be part of the solution. – Read more about Eat Feed Love’s beautiful mission…

With every purchase you make from Eat Feed Love, they feed a person in need.

In the vein of “some things bear repeating…” With every purchase you make from Eat Feed Love, they feed a person in need.

See why my words are in such a hurry to tell everyone about Eat Feed Love?

Their Website is filled with beautiful artisan food that any cook would be excited to cook with and any foodie would be delighted to eat. You can shop for condiments, chocolate (!!!), coffee, tea, spreads, jams, and even gorgeous kitchenware by visiting their shop. Something that occurs to me is this – you could shop for Christmas gifts throughout the year while improving the lives of others at the same time.  Even chocolate isn’t sweeter than that.

The Eat Feed Love Taste Club Box

I’m sure you’ve heard of “subscription box” programs. They’re all the rage right now and for good reason. Getting a box filled with surprises once a month is kind of like extending Christmas to the other 11 months.

I would say it’s like your birthday, but that involves adding a year to your age and… well… subscription boxes don’t treat you like that, so Christmas it is.

You may say, “Yeah, but you have to pay for the subscription boxes…” to which I would reply, “I spend A LOT more each Christmas that the cost of each box.”

Besides, with Eat Feed Love, remember – your money is going to help improve the lives of people who need it desperately.

How it Works

From Eat Feed Love’s Website: Sign up for our taste club box and you’ll receive a delicious box of goodies delivered to your doorstep every month! Each box is packed full of hand-selected artisan products from all over the world, assembled by our genius kitchen team.  (Read More)

There are three choices:

  1. Sample Box ($22 monthly)
  2. Snack Box ($35 monthly)
  3. Pantry Box ($45 monthly)

Each comes with free shipping, which is huge.

Eat Feed Love Taste Club Box: March "Luck of the Irish"

Eat Feed Love Taste Club Box: March’s Contents

When my box came in the mail a couple of days ago, I tore into it as you’d expect any reasonable foodie to do.  When I opened the box, the first thing that hit me was just how beautifully packaged everything was. The items were carefully wrapped in the most beautiful paper imaginable and everything was nestled in what I always call paper pasta. The paper around the products was sealed with Eat Feed Love logos and it was all just exceptionally done.

The contents of the March “Luck of the Irish” Box (with the cost of each, sold individually, on the website):

  • Malted Vinegar Sea Salt $8
  • Horseradish Mustard $10
  • O.G. Hickory Beef Jerky $8
  • Arrowroot Powder $5
  • Caraway Seeds $6
  • Bloody Mary Mix $9
  • 9 Gorgeous Recipe Cards
  • 20% Off Coupon Code for any order of items in this box

I mention the prices, so that you can see that the value of the box exceeds the cost of the box. I’ve also linked to each of the individual contents so you can read more about each.

The strongest thing I drink is coffee, so my plans for the Bloody Mary Mix will be different than others. I plan to use it to marinade chicken soon. I added a little to my meatloaf topping last night and it added a great kick to it.

I’ve also used the Horseradish Mustard which is something I’ll definitely buy from the website (as in again and again…). It’s out of this world fantastic.

Speaking of which, something else I’ll buy again and again is the O.G. Hickory Beef Jerky. It’s easily the best beef jerky I’ve ever had. The flavor is insane – it makes you all but refuse to call it beef jerky. You find yourself saying, “Here…try this exquisite tastiness…”

Yet another item that I will order BEFORE running out is the Malted Vinegar Sea Salt. I’ve used it on fish and asparagus so far and can’t wait to try it in various recipes.

Since I did just receive the box a few days ago, I’ve only tried one of the recipes so far: The Tangy Horseradish Mustard Aioli (pictured below). It is outstanding! I served it with roasted vegetables but made a mental note to also make it then next time I have burgers. The flavors of the Horseradish Mustard and the Malted Vinegar Sea Salt are uncommonly delicious.

The Mustard Gravy, Irish Slaw are next on my “to make” list. I also plan to try to make the Irish Soda Bread recipe with gluten free flour. Talk about delicious goals.

Ten Reasons the Eat Feed Love Taste Club Box gets a perfect 10 out of 10 stars from me:

  1.  A portion of the money you spend helps those who need help. If you’re like me, you cannot stand the thought of someone (child or adult) being hungry, thirsty, cold, or having some need we take for granted unmet.  I love any program that seeks to make life better for others.
  2. Who doesn’t love a little mystery and surprises in their life?! A Taste Club Box gives you something to look forward to each month and opening it to unveil the contents is just a lot of fun.
  3. For cooks, I can’t say enough about how exciting it is to experiment with new ingredients – some of which you’ve never used before. I know I’m repeating myself, but the only word for it is exciting. Why make the same old foods every week when you don’t have to. Open up a whole new world by exposing yourself to new ingredients, spices, foods, and condiments.
  4. The recipes that accompany each box are total knock outs. The cards are gorgeous and the recipes give you a perfect idea of how to use your new ingredients.
  5. The website is amazing! You can find more information about the program as well as the foods and products they sell. For example, I learned even more ways to use a few of my new obsessions (Malted Vinegar Sea Salt and Horseradish Mustard – I already know how to use the O.G. Hickory Beef Jerky… right out of the bag!) .
  6. The “artisan” foods are as high quality as it gets. These aren’t items plucked off of the shelves at a grocery store. These are top notch ingredients that’ll add a whole new dimension to your meals.
  7. Foodies will be in their element! Foodies love to find new things to enjoy and, let’s face it, tell everyone about. Whether it’s people in your office, at Kroger, or on social media, trust me, you’ll be crowing about your new finds to everyone.
  8. There are TONS of foods that are all natural and Gluten Free. In fact, there wasn’t one thing in my box I was unable to enjoy.
  9. Each month, Eat Feed Love teams with a different organization or charity that’s doing their part to make the world a better place. They allow the charity or organization of the month to share in the proceeds. I just think this is a beautiful way of spreading goodness. The organization doesn’t just benefit from the proceeds, they’re able to get their name out there and allow others to see what they’re about. In the long run, that is probably of even more worth to them than the proceeds.
  10. Ever see an old episode of Popeye – when our bald hero gets all jacked up on Spinach and plow drives Brutus into the ground (or outer space, depending on his mood, I guess)? That’s what a subscription box like this does to the ordinary and the expected. It adds a little extra something something to your life and you truly have to experience for yourself to appreciate its worth.
