Pyrex products have always been favorites of mine. Why wouldn’t they? They’re positively gorgeous, durable, last forever, and always seem to be designed by people who are as passionate about cooking as I am.
Recently, Pyrex and its amazing kitchen gadgets, cooking tools, bakeware, and cookware have had center stage in our kitchen – even more than usual. First of all, I was sent a box of outstanding Pyrex goodies to review for Get Cooking. It was like Christmas in September – I’m still giddy.
Second of all, my oldest daughter Emily is getting married next month and she was lucky enough to receive some wonderful Pyrex products at her bridal shower.
There are so many different Pyrex products that I’m excited about that I can’t possibly include them all in one post. Each one is super special and deserves its very own post and very own spotlight.
So each day I’m going to have a Daily Pyrex Post – amongst the regular recipes, odes to chocolate, and praises to coffee. You’ll want to equip your kitchen with everything Pyrex has to offer. As I say a gazillion times, a cook is only as good as the tools she surrounds herself with.
First up for the Daily Pyrex Post? It may seem unusual because it’s such a small gadget, but there’s no way I could NOT start things off with the Pyrex Flat Whisk.
I love this guy!
I used it last night while making a Three Cheese-Rosemary Sauce for Angel Hair Pasta. As the cheeses melted in the saucepan, I was able to whisk in the whipping cream as I slide the whisk along the side of the pan beautifully. Unlike most whisks, the Pyrex Flat Whisk is coated so there’s no fear of ruining your pans. It’s also flat, so it scoots along the sides and bottom of the pan, incorporating every bit of cheese, gravy, soup or whatever it is you’re making at the time.
You’ll want to make your way to your nearest Target, Kroger, or Wal-Mart (or wherever you do the most damage) and grab a Pyrex Flat Whisk asap. Just like me, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it.
Pyrex Flat Whisk Features:
- Flat design is ideal for making sauces and gravies
- Flexible edges scrape pan sides and bottoms to keep liquids from burning
- Narrow shape good for small bowls and containers
- Heat resistant to 500° F
