Adorable Pig Canisters Seen on The Neely’s are Available Online

June 11, 2012 By Joi Sigers

I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. This costs you absolutely no extra money (of course), it simply allows me to maintain the lifestyle my cats are accustomed to!

Pig Canisters

If you read my food blog regularly (and I love wildly you if you do), you know how much I love pigs. I collect pigs for one reason – they make me smile.  Who wouldn’t smile when looking at something so ridiculously cute?!

For what seems like forever, I’ve wanted pig canisters. Each Christmas, my daughters have turned the region upside down trying to find a set for me.  I just always felt like pig canisters had to exist, even if I’d never actually seen them with my own eyes.

Then, not long ago, I was flipping through a new issue of Food Network Magazine when I came to a favorite section – the part in each issue when you get to see inside a favorite tv chef’s kitchen.  This issue was the Neely’s kitchen and I was beside myself… I love this couple!   Even before their beautiful mega-watt smiles jumped off the page at me, I noticed something else: Pig canisters on their counter!  I thought my piggy dreams were answered – the only problem was the issue didn’t tell me where I could get a set.

Back to square one.

A few months later, I opened my Food Network Store E-mail Newsletter and there they were – the adorable pig canisters that I’d seen and fallen in love with in the magazine!  The little beauties  (Del Rey 3-pc. This Lil’ Piggy Canister Set, Pink) are shown above and are… get this… available online in the Food Network Store.

From the Food Network Store:

We love the piggy canister set seen on Food Network’s “Down Home with the Neelys” so much, we were inspired to come up with one of our own. Our charming “Lil’ Piggy” canister set adds a touch of whimsy to any kitchen. The delightful, 3-piece ceramic set is perfect for dry kitchen storage from cookies to tea bags; The large container (who we have affectionately named Orson) holds up to a full 5-lb. bag of flour. Individual details lend each canister its own distinctive personality: Orson stands watch over the family with wide-open eyes while Pearl seems to smile down on Jr., the smallest piggy with a heart as full as his goodie-packed belly. Each boasts a cute, little curly tail in the back. Asymmetrical, folding ears add character while providing a functional grip for lifting the lids, which are equipped with removable silicone gaskets to keep contents fresh and secure. Hand-finishing gives each of the Lil’ Piggies a vintage, artisanal feel.

Click either the link or the picture for more information.  I can’t wait until I can see the beautiful Del Rey 3-pc. This Lil’ Piggy Canister Set, Pink every time I walk into my kitchen

I have the spot picked out already!
