Tea with Mother

You know how certain kitchen gadgets, handbags, golf clubs (I’m guessing on this one), sandals, coffee mugs, dishes, etc. just seem to have had you in mind when they were made. The ones that get right to the core of your being and scream, “You know you want me! You can’t possibly live without me!” Happens more than I care to think about right now, but the art print above doesn’t just scream at me, it does something far more effective.
It leans in and whispers, “We were made for one another.”
They (experts who know about these things) say that art, more than anything else speaks to us. Apparently we see something in the art that’s in front of us that resonates with our being – speaks to us… whether it’s screaming or whispering on the lean.
I’m not sure what my great love for this delightfully off beat art print says about me (and less sure that I want to know) but I love it with every ounce of my being. Look at their eyes as they nurse their little cups of tea. Absolutely priceless. I think the fact that it’s so deliciously different and unexpected is what draws me to it. When we think of tea and tea lovers, we often tend to think of a certain “stereotype” – those who are so buttoned up and buttoned down that it’s a wonder they can move.
Tea lovers and drinkers today are a different breed. We’re the ones who know our Starbuck’s baristas on a first-name basis. We know the health benefits of tea and green tea. We love to experiment with different herbal teas and infusions. We don’t just march to the beat of a different drum than the old tea drinking stereotypes, we hide their drums just for the fun of it. There’s something funny about watching those top buttons snap off!
Click through the wonderfully eccentric art print above for a closer look. Seriously, this one’s such a treasure I want one in each room.
