2020 Gift Ideas for Cooks and Foodies: A Beautiful Handmade Ceramic Bowl

October 25, 2020 By Joi Sigers

I’m a little behind with getting my 2020 Christmas Gift Ideas for Cooks category going here on the food blog but, hey, it’s 2020… all rules and norms have been thrown out the back door!

I actually only thought about the idea when I came across this gorgeous handmade ceramic bowl (Amazon link) on Amazon earlier. I was looking through their handmade items and threw some of the most adorable handmade soaps you’ve ever seen into my cart (they’re shaped like Christmas candy and they’re too cute to be believed). After I threw them into my cart without thinking twice, I saw a thumbnail of these gorgeous bowls and had to take a closer look.

From Amazon:

This beautiful handmade bowl is perfect for cereal, soup, ice cream and much, much more! During firing, the Floating Blue and Sapphire glazes react to the temperature and atmosphere in the kiln so that each bowl is unique. This bowl is just right for microwaving a single serving of hot cereal or soup and are equally good for cold foods as well.

This bowl is wheel-thrown stoneware clay. The bottom is ground smooth with a slight ring at the edge, sometimes known as a foot. It is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.

  • Glazes are lead free and totally safe
  • Bowls are approximately 2 1/2″ tall, 5 1/2″ in diameter.
  • Capacity is approximately 15 oz.

Take a closer look at this beautiful handmade ceramic bowl (Amazon link). I absolutely love it!

Gift Ideas for Pig Collectors

September 26, 2019 By Joi Sigers

If you scroll through my food blog for any length of time, you’ll see pig after pig after pig. I’m completely and utterly (if only cows were my obsession, what a joke this would be) in love with pigs and you can find them everywhere in my kitchen.  The deliciously unique pig platter (pictured on the right) needs to join my crew as soon as possible.

In fact, I plan to see to it that she does.

Made of resin, I plan to use her more for looks than anything else.

Equally beautiful is the adorably unique small pig bowl pictured to the left. How gorgeous is this?! When you click through and see the picture on Amazon, you’ll notice they have a few artificial flowers in it, along with a candle. LOVE the way that looks and that’s exactly what I’ll be putting in mine.

Originally carved out of a knotty wood, this adorable pig bowl measures 4″ wide, 8″ long, and 3″ wide.

Like the beautiful pig platter above, the pig bowl is also made of resin.

Click through the links or the pictures to take a closer look.

Cookware Protector Sets: Absolutely Ingenious, No Doubt About It

October 6, 2018 By Joi Sigers

Cookware Protector Set

Cookware Protector Set

TJMaxx gets me. They just really, really get me. So much so that they’re often a few feet ahead of me when it comes to knowing what I need. Honestly, I’ve lost track of the times I’ve meandered through the store and found things I had no idea I needed! Which is exactly why when any of my daughters and I go, we allow time for at least an hour of wandering and shopping.

The males in our family seldom are up for this – except for the 10 month old. He doesn’t have much of a choice.

The Core Kitchen Cookware Protector Set (link to other Core Kitchen Protector Sets on Amazon) jumped out at me on a recent trip. The bright colors caught my eye and I had to take a closer look.

Each set comes with three colorful cookware (or plates, bowls…) protectors. They’re designed in a way to simply and beautifully cushion your pans or dishes and protect them from scratches.

I wish I’d had these many, many, many scratched pans ago.

If you live near a TJMaxx, look for these beauties – they’d make brilliant additions to your own home as well as fun and useful gift ideas for the cooks in your life. There are also many different color combinations available on Amazon (Amazon link).

Gorgeous Christmas Kitchen Towels on Amazon

September 27, 2016 By Joi Sigers

The set of three Christmas Kitchen Towels pictured here are, without a doubt, some of the most beautiful kitchen towels I’ve ever laid eyes on.  I have an obsession, if we’re being honest, with kitchen towels. Each holiday – as well as each season – I grab whatever colorful, festive towels catch my eye. I leave the oven mitts and pot holders where they sit, but the towels always come home with me.

Naturally, given the level of my fanaticism, I’m already eyeing Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving towels. The Christmas ones, above, are a given – they have a future in my kitchen.

I hope they enjoy the smell of coffee. Like, a lot.

  • Set of 3 dishtowels measures 18 x 28″ to tackle all of your drying and cleaning kitchen tasks
  • Ultra-absorbent 100% cotton which last long  and can hold up to your washings – Purchase confidently
  • The festive embroidery coordinate with most kitchen décor & add some holiday cheer to your kitchen
  • Perfect gift for Christmas, party, holidays, birthdays, housewarming and more
  • Machine washable and durable for daily use –Wash with Cold Water in Gentle Cycle & Tumble Dry Low

See Christmas Kitchen Towels for more details. Check out the reviews for these towels, too, while there.  There are a lot of RAVING reviews from very satisfied customers. I love to see that, right before I throw my towels into my shopping cart!
