My 3 Precious Grandbabies
I can give the basics and even a few little extras, but the best way to get to know about me is to get to know me. So e-mail me (joitsigers @ gmail.com) or connect with me on Twitter (https://twitter.com/JoiTaniaSigers or https://twitter.com/HollwoodYeste1 if you love old movies and everything vintage). That way, I get to know you too.
My name is Joi (pronounced Joy). People see my name and wonder if I’m from “an exotic place” – the answer’s no, unless being a Kentuckian counts. Born in Kentucky, raised in Kentucky, live in Kentucky – as the Montgomery Gentry song says, here is “where I keep all my yesterdays.”
My todays are also here, and my tomorrows see no reason to go anywhere else.
The spelling is simply a result of a great grandmother being ahead of her time. She told my mom she thought it’d be a fun idea to spell it with an i, and my mom always liked the word fun, so there you have it.
There will be mistypes in the recipes.. let’s go ahead and set that straight.. I am completely busy during the weekdays – I have the beautiful BLESSING of watching my grandbabies… while their moms and dads are at work. They are all 4 and under and, let’s just say our days are filled with fun and lots and lots of movement! My weekends are busy as well, as they are filled with keeping my husband entertained and fed – also blessings… just less movement.
You should know that my family is my life. I love them more than anyone should be allowed to love others. I’m a wife to a wonderful man who is also my best friend, mother of three daughters (more about them in a minute) and many cats. I think of my cats as family and would be lost without them. So, now the secret’s out of the bag, I’m a crazy cat lady. I also have three sons-in-law who are, literally, like sons I never had.
Now about those three grandbabies…. there are three amazing little men in my life who have given the world a whole new meaning – in addition to me a whole new name (“MiMi“).
I came up with the idea for Buttermilk Press.com and its blog, Get Cooking as a way to preserve my favorite recipes and cooking tips for my three beautiful daughters (Emily, Brittany, and Stephany). These three beautiful, perfect, hilarious, intelligent, charismatic, and in all ways wonderful girls put the sun, moon, and stars in my world and there simply isn’t a word strong enough to describe how much I love each one.
Over the years I’ve met so many wonderful and colorful people through Get Cooking that I know this food blog was one of my best ideas ever.
Because I’ve always thought of this site/blog as a dedication to my daughters, who I love more than my next breath, I always strive to make this the best food and recipe blog/site that it possibly can be. I work hard to provide recipes, cooking tips, product reviews, and food news and do all that I can to stay on my toes.
I will not recommend anything to YOU that I don’t recommend to my three girls. Did I mention how perfect they are??
Thank you for being here, you truly honor me with your visit. ~ Joi (“Joy”)…. aka MiMi!
