Pineapple Sorbet

June 3, 2011 By Joi Sigers

Pineapple Sorbet Recipe

When it comes to great summertime recipes, can you beat a great sorbet? The Sorbet recipe below is another delicious recipe from KRUPS and it sounds and looks as ridiculously amazing as their Summertime Smoothie Recipe.

Summertime Recipe: Pineapple Sorbet

6 cups fresh chopped pineapple
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 cup sugar

Place cut pineapple into blender and chop. Place pineapple and lemon juice in a blender; blend until smooth. Add sugar; process 1 minute or until sugar dissolves.

Pour mixture into the freezer can. Spoon sorbet into a freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze 1 hour or until firm..

Colorful Summertime Smoothie Recipe

June 3, 2011 By Joi Sigers

Summertime Smoothie Recipe from KRUPS

Somewhere along the line, this coffee and tea aficionado has become equally obsessed with smoothies.  Whether I buy them or make them, I find that drinking them is an other-worldly experience.  I love trying different fruit, yogurt, and flavoring combinations – the results are always delicious.  I guess I can blame my great love of smoothies (and I’ll admit it, shakes) for a recent mishap in the kitchen… I burned my blender up!

So, yeah, I’m in the market for a new blender! KRUPS recently sent me a few healthy, delicious-sounding recipes to post on the food blog, so I’m pretty sure I’ll consider them when I make my next purchase – which will have to be right away because their Summertime Detox Smoothie sounds amazing. I’m on board for anything that calls for raspberries and I’ve found that Almond Milk is excellent in smoothies. Click the following link for a delicious Vanilla Almond Milk Smoothie Recipe.

I’ll post the other recipes separately.

The KRUPS Motor Technik Blender is a powerful yet quiet device with five speeds and six powerful blades to create a variety of different types of textures. A 1,000-watt electronic motor controls the system, and it has an illuminated touch-pad control panel. It also features a 60-ounce borosilicate glass jar with a locking lid and removable measuring cap.

Whether making smoothies, high-protein hummus or fat-free sorbets, this blender has multiple capabilities to suit everyone’s dietary needs.

Below is a healthy smoothie recipe from KRUPS to enjoy using the Motor Technik Blender.

Summertime Detox Smoothie Recipe from KRUPS

12 ounces Acai Juice
6 ounces almond milk
1 Tbsp soy creamer
1 cup frozen wild blueberries
1 banana (frozen)
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 Tbsp Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal
1 cup coconut water ice cubes
1 Tbsp Macro Greens powder
1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1-3 dashes cayenne powder

Combine all ingredients in blender, and blend until smooth.

I’ll feature the other recipes they passed along in another post. Watch for them, they are absolute things of beauty: Pineapple Sorbet, Mediterranean Hummus, and Fresh Salsa Verde! Don’t worry, they’ll be right behind this post – and i just made a second pot of coffee, so the ole girl’s moving pretty fast.
